As an immigration lawyer, I meet regularly with immigrant entrepreneurs looking not only to get their businesses off the ground but at the same time navigate Canada’s challenging and complex immigration laws and policies, as they pursue permanent residency and citizenship. Newcomers to Canada contribute in so many ways to Canada’s rich diversity and culture, and more specifically, many also have an entrepreneurial spirit that is often overlooked. The work that Genesis does to support these very entrepreneurs is commendable. It’s been an honour to work with Genesis over the last several years as we provide, together, supports and mentorship to up-and-coming immigrant entrepreneurs.
