Genesis is headquartered at the Emera Innovation Exchange (EIX) on Memorial University’s Signal Hill Campus, a location renowned for its history of communication, connection, and innovation.
In 1901, it gained global recognition when Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal. Today, it’s home to founders building startups with global potential. Our space inside EIX carries forward that spirit of reaching further.
Once a recording studio for Great Big Sea and later the launchpad for companies like Bluedrop ISM and Radient360, it’s now Genesis’s open-concept, two-floor hub for early-stage tech companies. Founders working here get more than an unbeatable view of St. John’s. They gain access to a collaborative environment built for startup momentum.
Ideas are shared. Advice is exchanged. Challenges are solved in real time.
We share Signal Hill Campus with Memorial’s Gardiner Centre and Conference and Event Services, Business & Arts NL, The Newfoundland Quarterly, and the Memorial University Pensioners’ Association. Some Genesis founders even live on campus in graduate student accommodations, making them true entrepreneurs-in-residence.
The result is a dynamic community of thinkers, builders, and connectors working side by side to move big ideas forward.

You'll find our space at The Dock, located at the west end of Water Street. Once the Newfoundland Railway terminal, the building is now a hub for startups, alumni, and AI innovation.
On the second floor, the Genesis AI Garage connects recent AI grads with Genesis founders and alumni to build solutions to real business challenges. Upstairs, Coworking at The Dock offers bright, flexible workspace for remote workers, early-stage teams, and alumni-led ventures. A suite of private offices is also available for companies ready to establish their own base while staying connected to the Genesis community.
