As Newfoundland and Labrador’s pre-eminent innovation hub, Genesis is known for its flagship incubator program, Enterprise, which began over twenty five years ago. Since its inception, Genesis has expanded its programming to support start-ups from the ideation stage all the way to scaling their business. Genesis’ mission is to create economic wealth for the province by developing and supporting technology entrepreneurs.
Understanding that innovation can be largely shaped by geography, Genesis offers a collaborative space on top of Signal Hill, perched above the city of St. John’s. It is an open space that fosters creativity and a place where local start-ups have taken residence. It also is a place that stimulates continuous learning and where best practices are shared. Since opening in 1997, Genesis companies have raised $700M in private capital, $650M of annual recurring revenues are generated, and more than 2500 jobs have been created.
Today, Genesis continues to build on its storied past by strengthening the entrepreneurial community and engaging the public and the private sector.
