We sat down with Peter Francis, CEO and co-founder of HelpMeOrder to discuss his business, where he got the idea and where they are going from here.

Q1: Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Peter Francis, I'm one of the cofounders of HelpMeOrder, besides being an entrepreneur, I'm also a husband, a father and a computer engineer.  Over the last 12 years, I've been blessed to have experienced a broad range of career opportunities in engineering design, verification, marketing, product management and now overall management of a team and a product.  It's been quite the journey.

Q2: What does HelpMeOrder do and what problem are you solving?

HelpMeOrder is a web and mobile application that is the ultimate guide to discover the top dishes at restaurants.  We've all been there, you're sitting in a restaurant with a group and you already know it's going to be an adventure for your friend who's vegan, gluten free or on a low calorie diet.  The menu is a wall of text and your friend is stuck having to interrogate the server for recommendations.  Our vision is that restaurant menus are visual and interactive.  Every dish is professionally photographed, clearly tagged for dietary restrictions and includes ratings from foodies who've tried that dish previously.

Q3: Why did you decide to start HelpMeOrder?

We started HelpMeOrder because we saw the problem in our own lives.  Being a new father, on the rare occasion that I got the chance go on a dinner date with my wife, it was a really special occasion and we wanted to get things just right.  There were all sorts of apps you can use to get recommendations on the best places to go, but nothing that can help you once you're there.  I knew we weren't the only ones and so we set out on a mission to solve this.

Q4: What’s new at HelpMeOrder? What progress have you made as of late?

We're publishing a video series called HelpMeOrder spotlight, whereby we feature hidden gems at our partner restaurants.  The response to the series has been tremendous, we're looking forward to releasing more fresh video content as part of that series.

Q5: What’s next for HelpMeOrder and what are you future plans?

We are working on an exciting new version of the HelpMeOrder app that will allow our users to earn exclusive HelpMeOrder deals and prizes at their favorite restaurants.
