Tales from Entrepreneurs! On Tap at Bitters

Everyone has them -- tales of their greatest triumphs and most embarrassing moments as an entrepreneur. On Thursday, May 21st, from 7-9 pm, join the Genesis Centre along with our special guests, Duleepa Wijayawardhana (Better known as Dups), Wally Haas and Mark Kennedy as they tell their stories about the highs and lows of running a start-up, and powerful lessons learned along the way.

The discussion will be lively and frank in a relaxing environment with refreshments and tapas flowing throughout the evening. There'll be lots of opportunities for networking and we'll have a Q & A session with our guests.  Seating is very limited so book early. Here's who we're featuring:

Duleepa Wijayawardhana– A graduate of Memorial University and ex-Muse editor, Dups co-founded Silicon Valley-funded Empire Avenue (which became one of the top 1000 websites in the world) in February 2010.  He is currently Co-CEO/CTO at Green Elk and involved in way too many startups while living in Kingston, Ontario.

Wally Haas - Started Avalon Microelectronics at the Genesis Centre in 2005. Grew it to 39 employees and sold it to San Jose-based Altera in 2010.  Wally has just started a new company called Avalon Holographics.

Mark Kennedy - Co-founder of Celtx Inc., a local company that produces pre-production software for the film and video industries.  Celtx has over 4 million users and revenues are growing by about 10 percent per month.

Startup Canada will be onsite as well broadcasting the event across the Country.
