The Genesis Centre’s Evolution program for fall 2015 is coming to its climactic end!
Pitch & Pick, the culminating event of the program, takes place this Friday, November 20th, at Memorial University. After eight intensive weeks of workshops, mentoring, and customer interviews, ten aspiring entrepreneurs are eager to share their business ideas. The fall 2015 cohort not only is the biggest since its inaugural launch in the summer of 2014, but the range of innovative ideas has expanded as well. From high end fashion to social entrepreneurship, Pitch & Pick will feature local ingenuity that has international potential.
Such a showcase, however, would not be possible without the groundswell of support from the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. From institutional partners such as MUN and the CNA, to organizations such as Common Ground and the Y Enterprise, the Evolution program boasts a mentoring program representing various movers and shakers in the local start-up scene. It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a whole community to help build a successful start-up and we want you to be part of it!
The event will take place on Friday, November 20th from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Engineering Lounge, located in Room EN4000 of the S.J.Carew Engineering and Applied Science Building at Memorial University. All are welcome.
Pitch & Pick is but a foretaste of how vibrant the entrepreneurial ecosystem is here in Newfoundland and Labrador. Watch ten entrepreneurs pitch and you get to pick which idea is the best!
