Although it may not be well-know or widely celebrated, the last Wednesday of the last full week of April marks Administrative Professionals' Day. This day is a special observance to acknowledge the continuous efforts from administrative assistants that can often go unnoticed, but allow organizations to be successful. The Genesis Centre is very fortunate to have two amazing administrative assistants on the team who play a crucial role in keeping the Centre running.
Michelle Kavanagh began working with us in March 2016, as the Incubation Services Admin, and has already done a tremendous job with planning and organizing important events such as Pitch & Pick: The Election Convention Edition and the Evolution sessions prior to the pitch day. Michelle brings a wealth of intriguing experiences to the Genesis Centre as she has previously spent 5 years working on cruise ships and sailing around the world! She is able to have a conversation in several different languages and always greets the intern (a major in Commerce and Spanish) with a cheerful “Buenos días” each morning. Her happy demeanor and positive attitude is truly contagious to everyone.
Since 2009, Lisa Griffin has been the Financial Assistant at the Genesis Centre. She is essential to the daily operations of the organization and is always helpful if someone needs assistance around the office. You can be sure that she will be right there to lend a hand whenever she can. Lisa is always busy between balancing the books at the Genesis Centre and keeping up with her children. Lisa works very hard to take care of both her Griffin family and Genesis family, and we are very fortunate to have her as part of the team.
So on this special day, we would like to make them known and celebrated. Thank you, Lisa and Michelle, for all that you do!
