Angelo Casanas

Director, Programs & Partnerships

Angelo Casanas joined the Genesis Centre in 2014 and is now the Director, Programs & Partnerships. In this role, Angelo is responsible for overseeing the centre’s programming including the pre-accelerator/incubator program, Evolution, as well as the centre’s flagship incubator program, Enterprise. This entails program design and development, ensuring the Genesis Centre continues to provide world class programming for world class talent in Newfoundland and Labrador.

In addition, Angelo will continue to take a leading role in facilitating and managing relationships with the Genesis Centre’s various partners. As the centre continues to be a hub for innovation, Angelo has the dynamic task of engaging stakeholders from academia, the public sector and the private sector; exploring collaborative opportunities in the innovation ecosystem in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.

Previously, Angelo worked for MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, one of the world’s largest urban innovation hubs. His experience at MaRS working with clients in ICT, cleantech and health, is a valuable asset that he brings to the Centre’s community of start-ups.   

Angelo holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University.
